Kazakhstan Round 1: Mission Complete

Joel & Shawn are home safe from Kazakhstan and the sauna is installed in its permanent & absolutely stunning location, 10,000 feet above sea level.

It would be an understatement to say they experienced some culture shock on their trip but they managed to complete the job on time and in very harsh conditions.

With extreme weather, equipment delays, &  the odd sheep in the way, it was a bit of a slow start but these two seasoned Pioneer veterans are solution-oriented and kept up a positive attitude throughout, never once doubting the job would not be completed on schedule. 10,000 feet above sea level isn’t easy for a crane and it had a tough climb up a 15% grade where at one point overheated and slid sideways into a ditch beside a massive ravine.

Once it arrived, they were able begin set-up and worked into the night for the rest of their trip, in -25 temperatures, to ensure the job would be done on time. This gorgeous structure is now in place and will soon be ready for the client to enjoy.

Pioneer Log Homes’ first trip to Kazakhstan has been filled with challenges and triumphs and we know we will be back for the next build – a 20,000 square foot log home! We are looking forward to visiting this spectacular country once again with the new knowledge that we have gained from our Maiden Voyage.
